FLEET Carer’s Grant

FLEET aims to foster a culture of inclusiveness and create a working environment that serves to eliminate the conflict of research and family commitments. The Centre recognises that members with caring / family responsibilities face inequitable hurdles to participating in professional activities such as attending a conference or workshop.

A maximum of $2,000 can be offered to all FLEET members with family/caring responsibilities. Example of support can include, but not limited to:

• Travel expenses for depending children / carer to come with you
• Costs associated with alternative arrangement for childcare / care-at-home while you are away

Applications are considered monthly by the Equity & Diversity Committee. Approved funding will be provided via reimbursement of actual expenses on presentation of tax invoices only, not as a lump sum prior to travel.
