FLEET – MacDiarmid Collaborative Grant

Applications close 2 May 2023

FLEET and our partner in New Zealand, the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, are sharing a mission to search for future low-energy electronics via the development of novel materials and devices. This partnership benefits both organisations partnership through multifaceted research collaboration, sharing of innovative ideas and best practice in the sphere of public engagement and commercialisation, as well as sharing best practice on equity issues.

A $20k fund is available to FLEET members to support outgoing travel to collaborate with MacDiarmid investigators. This funding has been matched by MacDiarmid for their investigators. These funds are targeted to particularly support travel costs and stays; these are likely to be in the region of 1-3 months (as justified by the project). The collaboration with MacDiarmid expands beyond the complementary research programs in both organisations to include also initiatives to improve equity in STEM, outreach as well as public engagement. Collaborative projects in these areas are therefore, highly encouraged.

Applications are sought from all FLEET members for travels in 2023, ECRs and students are highly encouraged to apply.
