UNSW: Theoretical condensed matter physics – electron correlations

Closes 20 September 2019

We seek a postdoctoral research associate to perform independent research on theoretical condensed matter physics. Focus of the work will be on electron correlations in quantum materials, spin liquids, and topological excitations. This Level A Academic position will be supervised by Prof Oleg Sushkov at UNSW Sydney.

What we are looking for:

  • The incumbent should possess a completed PhD degree, or a substantial progress towards a PhD degree, in Physics or related fields in Physics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current problems in theoretical condensed matter physics
  • Demonstrated experience in spin liquids, quantum field theories, quantum criticality, superconductivity, and Monte Carlo simulations is desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct outstanding research and scholarship in an independent manner with a limited supervision.
