Multidimensional coherent spectroscopy of moiré intralayer excitons in twisted WSe2/WSe2 homobilayers

Twisted van der Waals heterostructures have emerged as a powerful platform to explore novel condensed matter physics due to the interplay between the moiré potential and Coulomb interactions.

Here, we present preliminary observations of moire intralayer excitons in MoS2/WS2 twisted hombilayers, revealed using multidimensional coherent spectroscopy.

About the presenters

Mitchell Conway is currently a research associate working with Dr Jeff Davis’s ultrafast spectroscopy group at Swinburne University of Technology. Mitch recently completed his PhD project working on modifying the electronic band structure of 2D materials by driving non-equilibrium states to realise 2D Floquet topological insulators. This work has contributed to Research Theme 3 light-transformed materials.

Kyle Boschen completed his Honours project in 2022 and is now undertaking a PhD in CI Jeff Davis‘ group. He is investigating the properties of two dimensional semiconducting TMDs using ultrafast spectroscopy.
