Monash: Research Fellow in Experimental physics in magnetic sensing

Application close 1 January 2020

We are seeking a Research Fellow (Level A) to join our FLEET team to develop a platform for measuring the spatial distribution of electron currents in optically modified, atomically thin topological insulators. The platform is based on magnetometry using wide-field detection of nitrogen vacancy centres in diamond films.

Based in Melbourne, the fellow will be working with Prof Kris Helmerson at Monash and Dr Jeff Davis at Swinburne. What we are looking for:

  • A doctoral qualification in Experimental Physics, Engineering or closely related fields
  • A record of publications in experimental physics, optics, surface science or materials engineering
  • Experience in developing and working on research projects.
