Coin Shooter

Create a tower using coins, and then bring your tower down by shooting out one layer at a time.

What you need:

  • as many 10 cent coins as possible
  • patience!

What to do:

  1. Put all the coins except one into a tower.
  2. Use the remaining coin, the shooter, by flicking or throwing it as fast as possible towards the tower.
  3. When you hit the tower, only the bottom coin should come out – the rest of the tower will remain standing.
  4. See if you can knock out one level of the tower at a time.

What happens:

Each time you hit the tower, only the bottom coin will move. This is because of inertia, a law in science that states that things don’t move unless something acts upon them. Because the shooter coin only hits the bottom coin, this is the only one that flies out – the rest of them remain in the tower. Be warned – this is not easy. It takes practice and patience!
