Arkansas: Multiferroics, ferroelectrics, magnetic systems

Work with FLEET collaborator at the University of Arkansas

Opportunity exists for a researcher with experience in multiferroics, ferroelectrics, and/or magnetic systems. The postdoctoral researcher will be working with FLEET Scientific Associate Investigator Professor Laurent Bellaiche at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Conduct research on the modelling, understanding and designing of multiferroics, ferroelectrics, and/or magnetic systems, with particular emphases on:
    • dynamical, structural and out-of-equilibrium effects
    • light-matter interactions
    • neurotrophic computing
    • Kitaev-type systems
    • topological defects
  • Publish research outcomes in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, contribute to high-profile conferences and workshops
  • Work collaboratively with experimental research groups and other theoretical research groups

What we are looking for:

    • PhD in Physics, Materials Science or related field and experience in numerical simulations and Solid State Physics is required
    • Experience in first-principles, Monte-Carlo and/or Molecular Dynamics techniques, is highly desirable
